we study two well-known examples writtin in early years of the seventeenth century, William Shackspeare Othello, and Jhon Webster The Duchess of Malfi. Both plays are about marriages for love. that violate social norm and are subsequently punched.
consider how two dramatists depict these forbidden marriage and the way in which they invest them with targic meaning. We focus on the two themes of love and death, but we also explore other related themes of the plays .such as race and class.
